Walk from Bulgwang, not City Hall
Save Seoul Metropolitan Archives / 서울기록원 and the full Eunpyeong address. The similar-sounding library is in another part of Seoul. Exhibition materials referring to content relocated from the library do not change the venue of this display.
Use Bulgwang station Exit 2. The operator gives a walking estimate of 5–9 minutes and says to continue 100 metres past Nokbeon Police Substation. Visit Seoul lists the station approach as 374 metres; treat this as orientation information rather than a guaranteed walk time. Follow the current walking route from the exit to the actual Archives entrance.

If you drive, the operator lists parking at ₩250 per five minutes. One full hour at that base rate would be ₩3,000; this is arithmetic from the published rate, not a promise of availability, a discount or a daily cap. The operator asks visitors to use public transport for a smoother visit.
Follow one transport story
The official exhibition description covers Seoul’s transport development from the aftermath of the Korean War through the 1980s. It brings together more than 120 archival records and donated materials from a designer involved in subway construction. The Korean title is 어느 도시의 탑승록; showing that title can help you identify the correct hall.
Choose one theme, such as a route record or a subway construction account, and compare it with the transport system you have used during your trip. Allowing about an hour is Passja’s flexible planning suggestion, not an official tour duration. Ask staff what English interpretation is available before relying on an English guided visit; no English tour is promised here.
Plan around the 17:00 closing time
For an unhurried visit, arriving around 15:30 leaves up to 90 minutes before the published closing time. This is an independent planning example, not an official last-entry rule. A long advertised exhibition run does not exclude occasional maintenance or holiday changes.
For general enquiries, the Archives lists 02-350-5600; the exhibition page lists its responsible department at 02-350-5625. Confirm the exhibition’s availability if travelling specifically for it.
Sources and current checks
Official sources checked October 30, 2026. Current operator information supports the exhibition’s ongoing status, hours, free admission, walk and parking rate. The station photographs were taken in 2019 and 2023 and show access context only. Visit allowances and cost arithmetic are independent Passja guidance.
