1. Milyang
Milyang is a great destination for a spring outing. It has many open-air tourist spots and cute cafes that make you feel relaxed and laid-back. Representative tourist attractions in Milyang include Milyang Twin Tunnel (Samrangjin), where a light festival is held in an old train tunnel. Others include Milyang Dam, Milyang Lake, and Pechungsa Temple, where you can feel spring. This includes Wiyangmot, where you can enjoy a panoramic view of the yew tree forest. There are beautiful photo spots throughout the area where you can take life shots.

2. Gapado (Jeju Island)
There are many small islands near Jeju Island. The most popular ones are Marado, Biyangdo, Udo, and Gapado. Among them, Gapado is a popular destination for a day trip from Jeju Island. It can be reached in about 2.5 to 3.5 hours, depending on the ferry.
It’s a small island with a cute charm. You can enjoy a leisurely stroll exploring every corner of the island on foot. Alternatively, enjoy the cool spring breeze and explore the island by bicycle. You can rent bicycles for one or two people. Explore the alleyways of Sangdong Village, which is full of Jeju flavor, and check out the wells with spring water. The Gapado Blue Rice Festival is held every year from March to May.
How to get to Gapado: You need to take a boat from a marina on Jeju Island. Usually, Unjin Port in Mosulpo, Jeju Island is the best place to go as there are many boat departures. The trip takes about 10 minutes.

3. Wonju
Wonju, Gangwon-do, is an easy-to-access destination for a day trip outside of Seoul. It has beautiful natural scenery, making it a great place to enjoy spring. Some of the best places to visit in Wonju include Chiaksan Mountain and Guryongsa Temple, which are great for spring hikes. Others are Salt Mountain Bridge, where you can enjoy stunning natural scenery; Wonju Rail Park, where you can ride a rail bike; and Museum SAN, which combines art and nature.
The warm sunshine, pretty cherry blossom trees, and blue signboards on the ivory building of the station will make for great photos and a perfect springtime getaway.

4. Daegu
Cherry blossoms in spring! Daegu is a travel destination that holds a cherry blossom festival every year around mid-March. There are cherry blossom spots all over the city. Some of Daegu’s most popular tourist attractions include Dongchon Amusement Park, Dalchang Reservoir, Suseong Pond, and Palgongsan Mountain.
It’s a great option for families traveling with children.

5. Gyeongju
Gyeongju is full of cultural and historical sites. It’s a great destination for a variety of travel styles, no matter who you’re traveling with. Historic attractions include Donggung Palace, Wolji Temple, Daereungwon, Seokguram, Cheomseongdae, Bulguksa Temple, Gyeongju Museum, Cheonmachong, and Bomunjeong. Hwangnidan-gil is full of flowering season costume rental shops and restaurants. Every year in mid-March, the Gyeongju Cherry Blossom Festival is held in the Bomun Complex and Heungmuro area.
Along the way, you’ll be immersed in the charm of the spring sea, with panoramic views of the ocean and the stunning Jusang Temple. At night, you can enjoy the beautiful night view from Gyeongju’s historical attractions or visit the Gyeongju Central Night Market.

6. Damyang
The city of bamboo is a great place to enjoy a healing trip in nature. The bamboo garden, Damyang Juknokwon, is a great place to enjoy bamboo forest bathing. The ‘Damyang Bamboo Festival’ is held here every May. Examples include Bonghwangru, an observation deck overlooking Damyang, and Metasequoia Land, which is famous for its metasequoia path.
Enjoy seafood pajeon and noodles at Damyang Noodle Street, a new favorite spot.
